Post Natal Recovery Massage

Using The Jing Method™ of Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage,

Post Natal Recovery Massage helps to support your recovery from pregnancy, birth and motherhood. This is a targeted therapy using advanced clinical massage techniques to help decrease pain, improve your joint range of motion and strengthen key areas which have become weak and fatigued since pregnancy and birth.

There is a misunderstanding that 'Clinical and Sports Massage' is suitable for athletes or those living with chronic pain conditions. Whilst it is highly effective with these, it is can also be incredibly beneficial for mothers who, lets face it, lead extremely active lifestyles.

Pregnancy, Birth and Motherhood puts an enormous strain on a woman's body; emotionally, spiritually and physically. And whilst we are provided with information during our pregnancy to stay active and healthy, in the postpartum period we are often lack understanding about the impact pregnancy, birth and motherhood can have on our bodies.

There is a common misconception that women 'bounce back' after birth.  In fact, in can take up to 18 months (approximately) for our bodies to recover.

Our body has done a truly miraculous thing by growing, birthing and mothering a newborn baby, and whilst you now look after your baby, it is important to also look after yourself as well.

Many women are not told that their bodies will feel fatigued, depleted and weak after birth but also for many weeks, months and years afterwards.

Many women are not given guidance on how to support their changing and adapting bodies in the postpartum period.

Many women are not aware of the musculoskeletal impact of feeding, carrying, lifting and pushing a buggy has on their body and that this chronic pain, weak muscles, and limited mobility may last for years after giving birth.

What can Post Natal Recovery Massage help with?

As an athlete of life, the modern mother lives with daily pain.

For many mums we put up with this pain.... 'my thumb hurts from picking up baby,' 'my back hurts from carrying toddler in sling,' 'my neck and shoulders feel restricted from feeding' and 'my hips have been hurting since I gave birth.'

Pain can occur for a variety of reasons for example from overuse or trauma from birth however, we often do not have the time to get to the root cause of this pain. Pain, when left untreated, will not simply go away, and that's why it's important for mums to take time to look after themselves.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Cat took time & care in really understanding what would help me, identifying pain points from breastfeeding & carrying children in particular. We also explored how massage could help with postnatal anxiety, incorporating stretches & breathwork into the treatment.

It’s been such a positive experience & reminded me how important it is to find time to look after myself.

If you’re wondering the same, then all I can say is do it! Cat is absolutely amazing & you will feel so much happier & healthier in the body & mind afterwards

I have had 4 clinical massages with Cat to help resolve post natal back, neck & shoulder pain & I can strongly recommend her. She is knowledgeable, professional & calm and her massages techniques are varied & tailored to your specific needs. She takes the time to gather a detailed medical history and background into your clinical needs & the massage feels interactive - with Cat recommending breath work to help with trigger points, exercises for follow up work & she is very responsive to the client’s needs by carefully monitoring levels of pain around muscle and fascial issues. She is also very friendly, warm & communication around treatments is excellent. I feel totally safe in her hands & would definitely recommend her for post natal clinical massage.

The postpartum massage you never knew you needed! 7 weeks after my second

c-section my body still felt so traumatised by the experience. I had aches, tension & weakness in different areas & was just accepting this is how it’s going to be. The massage was honestly so therapeutic & I’m so glad I was recommended to have it. I felt such a release of all my aches & pains. So grateful!
